Casali del Barone is a range of wines which encapsulates the winemaking tradition and history of the Piedmont region. Produced by Schenk Italian wineries, Casali del Barone Barbaresco DOCG is a great example of this iconic Italian wine. Made from the Nebbiolo grape renowned for its great tanins, fruitiness and perfumed aroma, Barbaresco is often described a junior Barolo.

This wine is a real crowd pleaser. Casali del Barone Barbaresco recently won a Gold medal at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2018.

The harvest of the grapes, 100% Nebbiolo in purity, is followed by destemming, pressing and fermentation, which takes place at controlled temperature between 25° and 30°C for about 3 weeks. The wine is aged for 26 months, including 9 months in large wooden barrels.

Intense red garnet colour, elegant and complex aromas with hints violet and red fruit, delicate spicy and toasted nuances. On the palate, it is intense and rich with red fruit and a touch of spice. Well balanced and velvety, it has soft tannins and a pleasant freshness. The wine has a long and persistent finish. Ideal with roasted, stewed or braised red meat.
