About

Rock Ferry 3rd Rock Sauvignon Blanc

In 2015 the Comers and Orchard vineyards in Marlborough produced relatively low yields to previous vintages, but provided quality fruit, resulting in concentrated flavours in the 3rd Rock Sauvignon Blanc and a fresh and expressive aromatic profile.  Sauvignon Blanc is becoming more and more diverse in New Zealand as the characteristics of sub regions within regions are discovered. At Rock Ferry they like Sauvignon Blanc to be dry and have depth and texture. They release their Sauvignon Blanc a little later than most (8-14 months after it is made) to allow it to develop and show some complexity. It sees a small portion of good quality oak, and the wine speaks clearly of the region.
