About

Land of Hope Pinotage

These grapes come from a combination of old bush vines on the farm on the side of the Helderberg Mountain and the Voor Paaderberg in Swartland. The 2017 vintage was very dry and as a result there was a smaller crop than previous years.  All of the berries were destemmed but not crushed and placed into a large fermenter, leaving about half of the berries intact to carry-out carbonic maceration.

Taste
This wine showcases all the good aspects of Pinotage’s heritage, with bright cherry fruit from the Pinot Noir and spicy notes from the Cinsault. Red cherries, violets and juicy palate, which finishes with balance, length, a touch of minerality and some really funky spice.
